23 degrees this morning . . .

Skagway

Started out with a heavy frost today and grandson had a chance to feel what icy grass is like! Thursday, while I was in Groton, Moosup got enough hail and sleet to cover the ground and that was around noontime! It was cool and windy in Groton that day but no hail and we're only 34 miles North of Groton. Weather a la Mark Twain!

Just helped Puppy's Pop cut two leading edges out of foam. I'm always nervous when I help out because I figure I'm going to mess up but with some sanding he said they'd be fine. He's making them for his friend in Slaughter. I think that's pretty nice and a very cool idea. I hope we get to see a picture of the completed plane.

Have to go on line and order some connect the dot books. Grandson went bonkers yesterday and this morning completing almost one whole book! He loved it. Of course if I get more he'll have outgrown it! But I'll take my chances. He's also back into the piano, so we've been playing and singing God Bless America for two days. Brought him home in the Dodge Ram and he loved the view. He said my car is slow! He's got nerve! With me driving, the Saturn will beat the Dodge with Grampa driving every time! Typical boy!

Quotes: "I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play; bring a friend . . . if you have one." George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill
"Cannot possibly attend first night; will attend second . . . if there is one." Winston Churchill to Shaw, in response.

Sounds like a nice day. Weather-wise we're finally looking at a hurricane or something. Don't figure it will get all the way here, though.

I certainly hope not.
