A Loudon weekend . . .

Alnwick Castle Garden.

Fantastic race weather Sunday even though Jimmie Johnson won and thereby unmade Puppy's Pop's Day. Our seats are pretty darned good. We're 42 rows up (only eight more to go!) and right at the start/finish line. By two o'clock we're sitting in the shade. Now that's one huge plus. The day was somewhat overcast but no rain until evening when we had already gone to Florence's North End in Merrimack for dinner. Stayed at a Fairfield Inn Saturday and Sunday. Very comfortable. But $150 for race night and $85 for a non race night! Still it's about the same or more at the other hotels.

Looks like we'll be hitting 90 today and so I have the air on high. Not too good in the heat. Expect Puppy's Pop's younger brother and his wife later on today and we'll get Riverview take out. Not cooking today, that's for certain! Sister-in-law is looking for work as she was laid off a couple of months ago and it's driving her bonkers. The place where Grampa used to work is hiring because they just got some big contracts for batteries. Maybe she'd have a chance there. She's very bright and I'm sure can adapt to anything. Not sure about the pay, though, because it seems they still manage to pay the women less than the men! Seems impossible in this age but true.

Tomorrow I'll be off to visit older brother and his wife. I haven't seen them since they returned from Turkey. I'm sure they'll have some stories to tell. Arizona nephew and his wife will be in the vicinity for the month of July so perhaps we'll get a chance to say hello. Bought Kiddo an M&M hat, blue, of course because Kyle Busch drives the M&M car. Also found a Dale Earnhart shirt for the middle child but there are no longer many Dale senior products at the track.
