Of trains and other bits . . .

Took the train to New Castle today and the sights were almost better than going by car. I think that Puppy's Pop was able to get some good shots of Cathedrals, rape oil flower fields, sheep, rooftops like in Mary Poppins, and lovely towns. We didn't have any luck at the Apple store. They're not going to have anything until Thursday night, really useless for us. But we did get a chance to walk around Eton Square which is a shopping mall and then go to lunch at a noodle place. That was very delicious and quite cheap, only 21 pounds for the three of us. G. Is working this week so we've been running around with D.

The weather has gone from summer to normal and we're glad we brought some long sleeves and jackets. D. made a trifle for dessert and we pretty much devoured it. Our walk to the Oak Tree Pub was a lark! We were too late for the lunch crowd and too early for the supper crowd so we walked to the airport! It's only about a mile from home. Quite handy. Naturally they have beer and wine so we sat outside and watched a C 130 do go arounds.
